Man convicted of rape escapes from prison work crew
UPDATE: The Arkansas Department of Corrections has named Misty Hartman and Linda Annette White as persons of interest in Hartman's escape. Authorities say the women may exist armed and unsafe.
Officials Misty Hartman is Samuel Hartman's sis, and White is his sister.

LEE Canton, Ark. – A manhunt spread from Arkansas to Mississippi on Friday after an inmate escaped a piece of work coiffure in east Arkansas.
Samuel Hartman, 38, was working with a regional field maintenance crew when he escaped Fri morning time, the Arkansas Department of Corrections said. During the act, he and an accomplice are said to have fired shots at a correctional officer.

The sheriff's role says Hartman may be traveling in a white 2021 Chevy Z71 Trail Boss with an Arkansas license plate reading 398 ZVY or no tags at all.

Arkansas State Police stated that a farmer reported having seen two abased jet skis on a gunkhole ramp. The sheriff'southward office found the jet skis on the boat ramp near Mhoon Landing Park in Tunica County.
"If you are traveling direct across from where we are in Tunica Canton to where the vehicle was abased in Arkansas, the jet skis would have traveled ii.5 miles south of here," said Clara Hoover with the Tunica Canton Sheriff'south Office.
Officials say a cellphone and a set of keys were establish on the jet skis.
Detectives believe they were used by Hartman due to where they were found and that one or more than people may exist with the suspect.
The jet skis are beingness processed by the Mississippi Agency of Investigation at this time.
Tunica County schools were placed on lockdown, the sheriff'south office said. The lockdown was afterwards lifted, and all schools were able to dismiss at 3 p.g.
There is a large police presence on Casino Strip in Tunica Canton. Hoover says they are searching high and depression for Hartman.

ADC officials said that Hartman was serving a life sentence on rape charges out of Franklin County. He has been in prison since December 2013.
According to court documents, the rape involved a 9-year-old child.
Hartman has tattoos of a rose, heart, sword, "Forever & Always" and "Sam -N-Christine," co-ordinate to ADC officials.
